Attention everyone this post is EXTREMELY important and exciting!!! Responses are due on July 15th, so there is plenty of time.
We are FINALLY getting the opportunity to suggest to the US Sentencing Commission what WE want its priorities to be for reform to the sentencing guidelines. This means Congress will also see these responses. You don’t have to be an attorney or have expert legal knowledge to respond either; they aren’t looking for that. They really want to know what the PUBLIC wants for a change. You can write 2 or 3 sentences or a book, and tell them your story

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The United States Sentencing Commission is an independent agency in the judicial branch of the United States Government. The Commission promulgates sentencing guidelines and policy statements for federal courts pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 994(a). The Commission also periodically reviews and revises previously promulgated guidelines pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 994(o) and submits guideline amendments to the Congress not later than the first day of May each year pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 994(p).
